SUMMARY:Curriculum of a Master's degree in Digital Transformation of Corporate Business
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:\n\nThe proposed curriculum should reflect the radical change that informat
ion technologies will bring to the existing social and economic order. This
disruption will bring about major changes in the mix of skills profiles an
d competencies industry requires for managing digital transformation. The r
esearch undertaken so far has proved that both specialist technical and gen
eral skills will be in high demand. Also the functional and disciplinary or
ganization, as it is reflected in most Management curricula taught in highe
r education, will be replaced by cross-disciplinary and more holistic appro
aches. In addition soft skills will gain higher priority as the change proc
ess will bring about a much more networked and interconnected type of compa
nies and collaboration processes. A modern approach will be implemented by
collaborating universities in designing a curriculum based on cooperation w
ith the corporate sector and is to reflect companies' recent requirements o
f graduates skills to be acquired on such a study programe. Collaborative w
ork of university partners will run on a newly created project platform (cf
  G. Project Management and Implementation). This IO will supply the followin
g deliverables:\n\n - Synopsis of skills needs that industry and research h
ave profiled so far\n - Definition of learning outcomes and competencies\n
 - Modules and subjects: titles, content, coherence of curriculum, overall f
ocus of each semester; student deliverables and exams, cross-module links,
soft skills practice\n - Project profiling: links with modules, cross-unive
rsity spreadout, interaction and immersion with corporate partners, student
teambuilding, tutoring\n - Methodology: contact classes, virtual classroom
s, assignments; didactic buildup, sequencing, links between modules, cross-
disciplinary integration, organization (blocks, frequency)\n\nThe planned f
uture Master’s programme will be organized as a joint degree program, which
means that it will be developed and implemented jointly by three partner u
niversities. The joint degree program can be seen as a transnational educat
ion platform enabling the partner universities to combine strengths in expe
rtise, knowledge, learning models and scientific culture of three different
European universities in such a unique way that the result is superior to
each single national institution’s approach. The planned study program shoul
d contain three main pillars of content: (1) core corporate business skills
, (2) HR and innovation skills and (3) IT, data analysis and technical skil
ls. Teaching modules of every pillar should be closely related to a project
, which could be either a corporate or a scientific research project. Accor
ding to reviews of core strengths of collaborating partners it seems that c
ompetencies can be divided as follows: Bielefeld's focus on core business s
kills, Tartu's on soft sills and innovation and Brno's on IT / Big Data com
 petencies.\n
