SUMMARY:Toolbox for digital corporate transformation management
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:\n\nTechnology is useless without knowing how, when and why anyone should u
se technological advancements. Companies that are created in the time of a
certain technology cycle are lucky, as they can have a fresh start with no
need for the transformation of the status quo. Those companies that were bo
rn before that era are struggling to fully integrate digital tools into exi
sting company processes. To say more, according to Harvard Business Review
survey, 70% of general change projects in companies fail. This, we suspect,
may apply even more to (potentially disruptive) digital transformation if
it is enacted with fuzzy targets and methodology. Combining existing streng
ths with process innovation generated by digital change is what industry is
currently seeking.Apart from mere outputs, an innovative element lies in t
he process that the project will unfold between Academia and industry. This
process will stimulate mutual participation, exchange and open source appr
oaches. It will generate a toolbox for companies to use and also try to gen
eralize findings for teaching purposes (used as an input in IO4).This IO is
to provide the following tool box:\n\n - Case study on a variety of existi
ng 'analog' vs emerging digital business models and processes (contrastive
SWOT analysis and overview of corporate functions)\n - Analysis of benefits
and obstacles of digital transformation.\n - Implementation scenarios and
best practice models (e.g. satellite vs incremental options) of digital tra
 nsformation.
