Blockchain and smart contracts are innovative digital methodologies allowing real-time processing of business transactions without the use of an intermediary. Though originating in the legal and financial sectors, they have a wide application potential in other business areas.

The guidepaper is to provide

  • a review of blockchain and smart contract applications in general and within the local corporate networks in CZ, D, and EST, including best practice examples.
  • a technology assessment study for the application of blockchain and smart contracts in business and other organisational processes (potential, disruptive impact, risks)
  • the development of an assessment model for the best use of blockchain and smart contract technologies within the corporate sector
  • guidelines for the implementation and application of these innovative technologies in business organizations
  • a definition of academic learning content and the elaboration of case studies allowing a transfer of best practice examples into teaching modules (to be fed into IO 4 curriculum)
  • a catalogue of blockchain and smart contract-related topics and research questions for PhD-studies and scientific publications
